The Big Show – Weekly Sports Podcast – 15.09

Another action packed week, and another action packed podcast.

The Big Show team returns, discussing what transpired during the previous week. Here is what is at offer in this edition of The Big Show Podcast.

Part 1 a

Which sport star do you think would do equally well if he were to switch loyalties to show business?

The three contributors pick up their nominations for the athletes who would be top draw even in show biz. KC insists everyone watch this Steve Nash video before they start rattling lists of their own.

Part 1 b

If sports stars were measured by Nielsen ratings (like TV shows) who would be the block buster of the week?

The fight continues this week as the contributors back their nominations with stats, performances and logic. There seems to be general consensus over the red hot Serb, but the other places face some stiff competition.

Atul’s unconventional choice of Iron Man Winconsin winner Ezequiel Morales, who swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles and then ran 26.2 miles; all back to back in just under 9 hours puts all other sporting feats under perspective. It also leads NCJ to reminisce about a much smaller version of this event back in his college, that saw 50 take part and just 2 finish.

Part 2

Is the Pakistan Cricket Board over reacting over the newest controversy brewed up by the Kiwi brand Moa Beer? And a favorite discussion topic, who is responsible for Indian Team’s disastrous tour of England?

The Unassuming Champion – Farewell Rahul Dravid

It is tough not to feel emotional today. Cricket was not an amusement or pastime when we were growing up. It was not something we watched on TV, read in the papers, followed on the internet; and felt elated or destroyed for a d...
